Following Our Example

I saw a kid, who is 6 and just learning to read, often saw his parents and grandparents reading their Bibles in the morning service. He tried to touch his parents and grandparents' Bibles. He tried to sit next to them. He wanted to follow the example of spending time with God even he's still young.

Timothy, a young disciple of Paul, faced heavy responsibilities in the church of Ephesus-training believers, leading in worship, countering the false doctrine. The older, experienced apostle Paul gave him instruction on leading the church in these areas, but he also mentioned the importance of personal conduct. Timothy said in 1 Timothy 4:12, "Be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

In 1 Timothy 4:16, Paul challenged Timothy to take heed to himself and to the doctrine. If he paid attention to his own spiritual life and to solid doctrine, he would be a godly example to the church family.

Now, we are as the christian student leaders in our campus, have we set an example even we are still young? We all have others who are observing us, our parents, friends, CCC staff, lecturers, and others. If we still follow to Christ's commandment and keep obeying, we will be a good example to lead others to Christ. Let's live our lives in such a way that those who follow our example will help others in their walk with God.

PRAY: Lord, help us to live a godly life, of faith and love and purity. So those who follow what we do will grow in their maturity
